Ecryate blends creativity with sustainability, providing eco-friendly artistic materials and inspiring workshops.
At Ecryate, we host and create workshops, art talks, and panel discussions to raise awareness on paint pollution. Through bringing artists, social entrepreneurs, and sustainable change-makers together, we believe in exploring the power of conscious creation.
Our work in numbers
Micro- and nanoplastics don’t just end up in the ocean — they also make their way into our soil and food when sewage sludge is used in agriculture. These invisible plastics circulate through our environment and eventually, our bodies.
And it’s not just the microplastics — people who use acrylic paint are also exposed to VOCs (volatile organic compounds), gases released as the paint dries. Short-term exposure can cause headaches, dizziness, and irritation of the eyes, nose, and throat. Long-term exposure has been linked to asthma, cancer, and even damage to the central nervous system.
Every time acrylic paint dries, it becomes plastic. Tiny flakes break off, turning into microplastics that slip through water treatment systems and flow into the ocean. Shockingly, paint is behind 58% of the microplastics polluting our seas.
